A healthy body-mind connection is one of the key elements of emotional wellness. Emily is fascinated by the human brain and how it affects our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and in turn, how those affect our bodies and our abilities to process challenges such as trauma and grief. She enjoys teaching, discussing, and normalizing functions of the brain. Emily is a biopsychosocial therapist, incorporating trauma work, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and somatic strategies to assist clients in understanding and accepting themselves without judgment or shame. She believes that everyone is doing the best that they can, and there are opportunities to do better. In working with Emily, you will learn how to set boundaries, break unhelpful/harmful thought and emotional regulation patterns, and gain self-confidence. A former philosophy major, Emily also incorporates humanistic elements into therapy, walking with you on this beautiful and challenging journey of figuring out what it means to be human and how to build a meaningful life.

All people are welcomed into the therapeutic space. Emily is neurodivergent, differently abled, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC supportive and affirming. Emily also has experience in supporting those previously incarcerated. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a foundational cornerstone of K & K’s mission, vision, and values.

Recently, Emily became a trained death doula through the International End-of-Life Doula Association. Grief and loss are inevitable within our human experience and journeying through these paths can often feel isolating and confusing. Emily provides a non-judgemental, safe, and confidential space to process grief and loss and learn how to more effectively incorporate these changes into your life. As a doula, Emily is available for bedside and beyond emotional, mental, and spiritual support for you and your loved ones.

Emily is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. She believes in fostering resiliency, self-worth, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills within the therapeutic alliance. She looks forward to walking with you and supporting you on your journey to your best self.
